
The President has appointed Mr. Mohamed Ahmed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA). This appointment was made following consultations with the Cabinet.
Mr. Mohamed Ahmed is a highly seasoned professional with over 40 years of extensive experience in the financial and banking sectors. He holds a Master’s degree and has previously served in senior executive roles at key institutions, including the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Maldives (BML).
His appointment comes after the retirement of the former CEO, Mr. Mohamed Hussain Maniku. Established in 2006, the CMDA is an independent regulatory body responsible for overseeing the Maldives’ securities market and ensuring the protection of investor interests.
