
According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, the Maldives’ tourism capacity increased by 667 beds during the first six months of this year, bringing the total operational capacity to 68,142 beds. This total includes 45,115 beds in resorts, 16,858 in guesthouses, 3,515 on safari vessels, and 2,654 in hotels. Currently, a total of 1,302 tourist facilities are providing services across the country. While the Maldives has welcomed over 1.1 million tourists so far this year, this figure reflects a 4.9% decrease compared to the corresponding period last year.
