According to statistics released by Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), more than 335 tons of goods were exported through the Maldives’ Sea-to-Air cargo service last month. This reflects a significant 102% increase compared to May, with shipments distributed across seven countries via four international airlines.
Launched in May 2024 as a collaborative effort between MPL and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), this service facilitates the seamless transit of sea freight to air transport. The government views the expansion of this service as a major economic opportunity, leveraging the high frequency of international airlines operating to the Maldives.
