Civil Service Regulations Amended to Introduce 30-Minute Buffer for Employees

Following a recent amendment to the Civil Service regulations, employees are now granted a 30-minute “buffer time” to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. Under this new policy, staff members arriving up to 30 minutes after the official start time may compensate for the delay by extending their working hours at the end of the day to complete their full shift. However, any arrival exceeding this 30-minute window will officially be recorded as a late arrival.

Additionally, the revised regulations outline specific attendance requirements for mosque staff. Mudeems are required to report for duty 5 minutes prior to each prayer call, while mosque maintenance workers must arrive 15 minutes beforehand. Furthermore, mosque maintenance staff are mandated to complete a minimum of five working hours per day.
