According to the financial report of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), the authority successfully recovered MVR 2 billion in outstanding state dues during the first quarter of this year. These funds were collected through various enforcement measures and compliance actions, including debt recovery negotiations, dues clearance procedures, account freezing, and the public disclosure of non-compliant taxpayers.

In addition, MIRA has issued final notices to individuals and entities that failed to file tax returns or settle their payments. To assist taxpayers facing financial difficulties in meeting their obligations, the authority has also facilitated flexible payment arrangements, allowing outstanding dues to be settled through installment plans.
