
Minister of Tourism, Ibrahim Faisal, has announced that the Shangri-La and Hankede projects are set to achieve substantial milestones starting this month. According to the Minister, a detailed timeline for the commencement of physical works on the Hankede project—a key initiative for southern tourism—will be unveiled within the next two to three weeks.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted that Shangri-La Resort, which is currently operating at a limited capacity, is expected to significantly enhance its operational scale by mid-July. These developments are part of the government’s strategic efforts to expand and strengthen tourism in Addu City and the southern region of the Maldives.
