The Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundu), has responded to allegations made by former Police Commissioner Hussain Waheed, who claimed that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu bribed a judge in connection with the Noomadi case. Mundu asserted that President Muizzu is a man of integrity who would not engage in any form of corruption or theft, stating clearly that the President’s innocence in this matter is evident. Furthermore, Mundu challenged Hussain Waheed to back his allegations under oath if he truly stands by them. It is noted that in 2023, the court cleared President Muizzu of charges related to allegedly providing false testimony against the state regarding the termination of the Noomadi agreement, ruling that the accusations were not proven.
