Ibrahim Ziyau Mohamed, the Managing Director of the Business Center Corporation (BCC), has stated that the economic development of Maldivian islands is fundamentally built upon the foundation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). On the occasion of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, Ziyau highlighted that these businesses serve as the backbone of the national economy, driving job creation and fostering innovation. Reaffirming BCC’s commitment to empowering these enterprises, he noted that special initiatives are currently being conducted across the Maldives in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Furthermore, he emphasized that government efforts to promote such businesses, including the Maldives Product Expo, have been highly successful in connecting entrepreneurs with potential investors.
