The Maldives Customs Service has intercepted 15,601 vape cartridges discovered concealed within a general cargo shipment imported by sea. The seizure took place on June 18 at the Male’ Commercial Harbor during a targeted operation prompted by suspicious activity.
This marks the largest single seizure of such products since the government announced its decision to ban vaping devices. Within the past five days, authorities have confiscated a total of 22,309 vape cartridges across multiple operations. Customs has confirmed that the matter is currently under further investigation.
