First Lady Sajidha Mohamed officially inaugurated the “BML Maldives Junior Championship 2026” yesterday. During the opening ceremony held at the Male’ Social Centre, the First Lady presented the “Queen of the Match” award for the tournament’s inaugural match.
Organized by the Netball Association of Maldives to foster the development of netball across the country, this year’s championship features 14 teams in the Under-15 category and 11 teams in the Under-17 category. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, along with senior executives from the Bank of Maldives (BML).
