The Government of the Maldives has welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to cease hostilities. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government expressed hope that this agreement would facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and foster regional peace and stability. Furthermore, the Maldives acknowledges the commitment shown by both nations in choosing the path of dialogue and commends the mediation efforts of countries such as Pakistan and Qatar. Under the terms of the agreement, which is scheduled to be signed this coming Friday, all military activities across the region, including Lebanon, must be permanently terminated.
