Court Issues Injunction to Seize Property Used for Drug Offenses in Hithadhoo

The Hithadhoo Magistrate Court has issued a landmark order to shut down a residence in Addu City, Hithadhoo, identified as a site for illicit drug activities. Under this court order, the property known as ‘Laamiyaage’ has been shuttered for a duration of 90 days, pursuant to the recent amendments to the Drugs Act.

The Maldives Police Service has cautioned that unauthorized entry into the premises during this period constitutes a criminal offense, and stringent legal action will be taken against violators. Furthermore, the police highlighted the significance of community cooperation in their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution within Addu City.
