The government has decided to launch a nationwide awareness campaign encompassing schools and higher education institutions to protect youth and students from the dangers of tobacco. Minister of Education Ismail Shafeeu stated that under this initiative, information regarding the health and economic impacts of tobacco will be disseminated to students, parents, and teachers. Furthermore, medical assistance will be provided to individuals seeking to quit tobacco use. The Minister also highlighted that the decision to ban vaping in the Maldives is a significant step taken to address the concerns of parents and to ensure the safety of future generations.
