
The Chairperson of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has dismissed reports claiming that the party’s Senate rejected a proposal by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, labeling such rumors as misinformation. Abdul Raheem stated that the party cannot be divided by efforts to incite discord, emphasizing that both the leadership and the Senate remain steadfast in their support for President Muizzu.
Furthermore, he noted that the President did not exert any pressure to influence decisions during the Senate meeting, highlighting that the party is governed by democratic principles and through a process of consultation.
In relation to this matter, the Parliamentary Group (PG) Leader Ibrahim Falah also stated that no action would be taken within the party that goes against the President’s wishes. He added that the President consistently prioritizes the party’s established procedures and the collective counsel of its members.
