With temperatures in Makkah soaring between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius, pilgrims are currently facing significant challenges. Due to the intense heat, some pilgrims have opted to remain in their hotels during daylight hours to perform their worship, while health authorities are advising frequent hydration and the use of umbrellas to prevent heat-related medical issues.
To mitigate the effects of the heat, the Saudi government has implemented extensive cooling measures, including powerful air conditioning systems, water-misting fans, and the distribution of chilled beverages. Furthermore, over 50,000 healthcare professionals have been deployed to treat any heat-related medical emergencies. As pilgrims prepare to gather on the plains of Arafat tomorrow, where temperatures are expected to rise even further, taking necessary safety precautions remains of paramount importance.
