Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) successfully managed a total of 24,782 tons of cargo during the first quarter of this year. This represents a 13% increase compared to the same period last year. The total volume includes 18,908 tons of imported goods and 5,873 tons of exports. Additionally, 4,277 tons of transshipment cargo were processed during this period.
According to MACL’s statistics, the highest volume of cargo was recorded in March. The growth in imports is attributed to the collaborative efforts between the government and MACL to ensure supply chain security and the availability of goods, in response to evolving global dynamics.
