The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission has stated that any actions regarding media content-related complaints will only be initiated following a transparent investigation. Under the newly formulated regulations, any party has the right to file a complaint, which will be reviewed and decided upon within a 30-day timeframe. The Commission further assured its commitment to safeguarding press freedom while taking necessary administrative actions in cases involving breaches of the professional code of ethics.
