Dr. Ali Azwar, a veteran professional with over 20 years of dedicated service to the State Electric Company (STELCO), has been appointed as its new Managing Director. Having commenced his career at the company as a trainee in 1997, Dr. Azwar has held several key leadership positions over the years, including Deputy Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Member of the Board of Directors.
He holds a PhD in Renewable Energy from New Zealand and is a distinguished expert in the formulation of energy policies. Furthermore, Dr. Azwar has served as a board member of Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) and has represented the Maldives at numerous international seminars and forums.
