Minister Mohamed Saeed has stated that any changes to taxi fares will be implemented only after comprehensive discussions with the Cabinet, taxi drivers, and taxi centers. The Minister assured that the government is committed to addressing the concerns raised by drivers in relation to rising fuel costs.
Additionally, he highlighted that following the integration of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Transport, efforts are underway to streamline the vehicle registration process and enhance the efficiency of service delivery. To further identify and understand the challenges facing the industry, the government has decided to conduct extensive consultative sessions across all cities in the Maldives.
