Fenaka Corporation has clarified that the recent surge in electricity bills is not due to billing discrepancies, but is a direct consequence of increased energy consumption during the peak heat season. According to the corporation, fuel consumption for power generation typically rises by 25 percent during March and April each year.

The utility provider highlighted that the soaring temperatures necessitate significantly more energy for cooling appliances, such as air conditioners, to maintain desired temperatures. Additionally, the company noted that extreme heat causes electrical cables to warm up, leading to energy inefficiency and technical wastage.

Furthermore, Fenaka stated that despite the discounts provided by the government during the month of Ramadan, the overall high volume of electricity usage remained a primary factor in the increased bill amounts. While providing assurance that all installed meters are tested and reliable, the corporation expressed its commitment to investigating and verifying any specific bills where customers suspect an issue.
