The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen, has highlighted a significant increase in the number of private jets arriving in the Maldives. Statistics indicate that private jet arrivals in March this year saw a remarkable 125% growth compared to the same period last year. Despite the challenges faced by airline operations due to regional instability in the Middle East, the government’s proactive efforts have successfully facilitated the resumption of major international flights and led to an increase in flight frequencies for several airlines. Furthermore, the Minister noted that Australia has now secured a place among the Maldives’ top ten source markets. He described these developments as a major achievement in advancing the nation’s tourism sector, especially considering the prevailing global challenges.
