Political Revolution in Maalhos: 17-Year Stronghold Overturned!

In a historic shift, the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has secured a clean sweep in the B. Maalhos Council elections, ending the 17-year dominance of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). Mohamed Thariq Abdul Razzak was elected as the Council President, while PNC candidates also secured all general seats and the reserved seat for female members with an overwhelming majority. Furthermore, the PNC captured the majority of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), leaving the MDP without a single seat in this election. This significant political transformation reflects the residents’ profound confidence in the current administration’s commitment to the island’s development.
