The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, has stated that the government is closely monitoring the prices and availability of essential commodities. Currently, 164 types of goods are being monitored, including key food items, cooking gas, and fuel. Given the President’s priority on mitigating the impact of global market fluctuations on the Maldives, arrangements have been made through negotiations with international markets to ensure an uninterrupted supply of goods. The government’s objective is to minimize the difficulties faced by citizens due to global instabilities and to ensure the sustainable provision of essential goods.
