
On the occasion of World Health Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized the critical importance of increasing investment in scientific research to ensure health security. The President stated that health policies must be grounded in proven scientific evidence, highlighting the necessity of prioritizing the “One Health” approach—an integrated strategy that recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
Furthermore, President Muizzu noted that the government is actively working to strengthen the Maldives’ healthcare sector by digitalizing services and establishing advanced systems for early disease detection. Aligning with the theme of this year’s World Health Day, the President also called upon all stakeholders to remain committed to science-based principles and practices.
