MIFCO has today officially opened a specialized facility for purchasing and processing yellowfin tuna in Addu Hulhumeedhoo. The facility was inaugurated by the State Minister of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources. Utilizing advanced blast freezing methods for fish packaging, the facility’s products are now available for purchase at the MIFCO outlet in Hulhumeedhoo.
This project aims to enhance the profitability of the fisheries sector in Addu City. Consequently, MIFCO has commenced efforts to distribute high-quality, reliable fish products across all islands within the atoll. This initiative represents a significant step in MIFCO’s ongoing efforts to boost production capacity, supported by the government and international financial assistance.
