MTCC is prepared to begin the remaining four segments of Phase 1 of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project along Malé’s northern waterfront this week. Under this project, a 700-meter stretch extending from Izzudheen Jetty to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal will be asphalted, and the road will be widened by constructing 610 meters of new quay wall.
The project also encompasses the installation of a comprehensive drainage system, new pavements, and street lighting. It has been confirmed that the existing Fishermen’s Park within this area will remain unchanged. Due to road closures necessitated by these works, all atoll ferry services will be diverted to the Maafannu and Hulhumalé Ferry Terminals starting next Monday.
