President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conducted a site inspection of the ongoing modernization project at Sultan Park. This redevelopment initiative, carried out through a joint collaboration between the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and the Road Development Corporation (RDC), focuses on enhancing the park’s infrastructure. Key improvements include the renovation of walkways, the treehouse, and children’s play areas, alongside a significant upgrade to the CCTV surveillance system. Furthermore, the project introduces state-of-the-art facilities, such as an overhead obstacle course and a modern shooting range.

During his visit, the President observed the park’s readiness for Eid al-Fitr festivities and reaffirmed his commitment to further developing the area into a high-quality recreational space for the residents of Malé. It is noteworthy that while Sultan Park underwent a major transformation during President Muizzu’s tenure as Housing Minister, the previous administration focused primarily on renaming the site, neglecting essential maintenance and upkeep. The revitalized park is now officially open to the public, featuring a variety of activities for the Eid holidays.
