The Maldives has welcomed more than 14,000 tourists across nine cruise liners so far this year, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s tourism industry. In response to the growing popularity of the Maldives as a premier cruise destination, the government is currently working on developing specialized jetties in three strategic regions to further facilitate and expand this sector.
As these international vessels dock in the capital, Malé, and various islands renowned for local tourism, Maldives Immigration continues to provide the necessary services and facilitation for arriving visitors. In addition to the flourishing cruise sector, the total number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives this year has now surpassed the 500,000 mark.
