Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has announced that the government has initiated strategic efforts to mitigate potential challenges in securing the nation’s fuel supply arising from the ongoing instability in the Middle East. Speaking at a press conference convened by the Special Ministerial Committee, the Minister emphasized that the government is actively working to diversify its energy sources. Rather than maintaining a dependency on a single region, efforts are underway to establish procurement channels from neighboring countries and other international markets.
Furthermore, in response to the rising global oil prices, the government is conducting comprehensive assessments of the potential economic impacts. Parallel to these efforts, significant measures are being implemented to bolster food security and expand the nation’s strategic fuel storage capacity.
