Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced a new mechanism allowing customers traveling abroad for medical purposes to apply for US Dollar purchases directly through the BML Mobile App. Under this arrangement, individuals traveling with assistance from Aasandha or NSPA can purchase up to USD 2,000, while those traveling at their own expense are eligible for a limit of USD 1,000. To facilitate the process, customers are required to submit their passport, flight ticket, and relevant medical documentation via the app. Upon approval, the bank will credit the funds directly to the customer’s account. Furthermore, BML has revised overseas transaction limits on debit cards, providing customers with greater convenience when making payments at hospitals and hotels abroad.
