
The Maldives’ first-ever national men’s netball team has departed for China to compete in the inaugural “Men’s Asia Cup.” Following an intensive three-month training period, the team’s captain, Abdulla Aflah Shareef, expressed his satisfaction with their preparations and stated that their primary goal is to achieve a successful outcome in the tournament.
This landmark event marks the first men’s netball competition of its kind in Asia, featuring teams from Hong Kong, Japan, and Malaysia alongside the Maldives. The tournament is scheduled to take place from the 5th to the 8th of this month. The Maldives is set to face Malaysia in their opening match today, with subsequent fixtures scheduled against Hong Kong and Japan.
