The Ministry of Tourism has officially opened bidding for the development and operation of tourist resorts in the Kaashidhoo lagoon (Kaafu Atoll) and Farumuli (Noonu Atoll). Both ventures are designed as land reclamation projects. According to the Ministry’s requirements, the Kaashidhoo project involves reclaiming a 10-hectare island to sustain a 100-bed resort, while the Farumuli project entails reclaiming a 15-hectare island for a 150-bed resort.

These locations are offered under a 50-year lease agreement, with a mandate that physical construction must commence within 36 months of the land being granted. To assist interested parties, virtual information sessions are scheduled for February 16 and March 3. Bid documents will be available for purchase from February 1 through March 31, and the deadline for bid submission is set for April 1. Furthermore, the window for seeking additional clarifications remains open until March 29.
