Crucial to Convey Public Needs to the Government

The First Lady, Sajidha Mohamed, has emphasized the importance of electing local councils that will effectively communicate the needs and aspirations of the people to the government.

The First Lady made these remarks while speaking at the inauguration of a campaign office for the Maafannu South constituency.

During her address, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed noted that the candidates contesting on the People’s National Congress (PNC) ticket are well-known figures who do not require further introduction, highlighting that they already command the respect and affection of the public.

She further stated that the public recognizes the President as a hardworking and diligent leader. She stressed that the local councils should consist of individuals ready to collaborate with such a dedicated administration. The First Lady cautioned that electing representatives who openly declare their intent to oppose the government would yield no benefit for the citizens.

“Today, we are working towards a common goal, as it is evident to everyone that the current administration is implementing sound policies. What we need are educated, energetic, and politically active individuals. The government’s principles regarding religious matters are widely accepted by the public. The President is currently making difficult decisions to resolve major social issues. If we fail to elect those who will cooperate with such a government, the consequences will be felt by all citizens,” the First Lady remarked.

Concluding her speech, she reiterated that it is vital to elect candidates who are committed to the welfare of the people in the upcoming local council elections. She underscored the necessity of having councils that act as a bridge between the public and the government, and urged the citizens to elect candidates who will foster a cooperative relationship with the administration.
