National Celebration Tonight to Welcome the Victorious National Team

The Maldives has achieved a historic milestone, clinching the championship title with an impeccable undefeated record that has left an indelible mark on the nation’s sporting history.

As the entire country beams with pride, the government, relevant state institutions, and private citizens are making grand preparations to celebrate this monumental achievement.

The National Futsal Team, whose success has brought immense joy to the Maldivian people, is scheduled to arrive back in the Maldives tonight.

Upon the arrival of the team’s flight at Velana International Airport, official welcoming festivities will commence. Having secured the top position in the region, the team will be accorded a VIP reception at the airport. Following the formal greeting, the champions will travel to Malé, where they will parade along Ameenee Magu and Majeedhee Magu in an open vehicle, showcasing the trophy to the public. The procession will conclude at the Artificial Beach, where players and officials will engage in celebratory activities with the general public.

His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, accompanied by the Minister of Sports, will attend the special festivities at the Artificial Beach to honour the team’s success.

During the event, the President is scheduled to meet with the national team players and deliver an address. A formal presentation of the SAFF Futsal Championship trophy to the President will also take place, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to mark the occasion.

In addition to government efforts, private individuals and businesses are also actively preparing for the festivities. Many citizens are showing their solidarity by purchasing national jerseys and various celebratory items to cheer for the team.
