The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure has announced that more than 500 individuals have already submitted applications for the government’s new housing schemes. According to the data released by the Ministry, 399 applications have been received for flats, while 119 individuals have applied for land plots. Additionally, 3,836 applicants have initiated the process and are currently in the drafting stage.
The opportunity to apply for housing was opened yesterday under the government’s “Housing for All” policy. This phase of the initiative aims to allocate 15,000 land plots and 79,000 flats.
The application process is conducted through the “Hiyaavehi” online portal. Once an application is officially submitted, it cannot be canceled. However, applicants may modify their details while the form is in the draft stage before final submission.
The deadline for land plot applications is March 4, 2024, while applications for flats will be accepted until April 17, 2024. Further information regarding the application process, guidelines, and eligibility criteria is available on the Ministry’s social media platforms and the Government Gazette.
Under this scheme, each individual is eligible to apply for either a flat or a land plot, but not both.
