Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has assured that there are no difficulties in appointing the necessary teachers and principals as schools prepare to commence the new academic year on the 27th of this month. The Minister noted that arrangements have been finalized to recruit new staff to replace expatriate teachers who depart annually.
Furthermore, the Minister provided assurance that approximately 400 teachers are currently on standby for emergency situations, ensuring that any vacancies can be filled within a maximum of five days. In addition to the ongoing national program to train local teachers, final preparations—including school maintenance and the distribution of textbooks—are proceeding at an accelerated pace.
