István Urbányi, the veteran Hungarian coach recently appointed to lead the Maldives national football team, arrived in the country today. This marks his third tenure as head coach, though his current role has been expanded to include the responsibilities of Technical Director for the Football Association of Maldives (FAM). Urbányi stated that his decision to return was primarily motivated by the immense trust and confidence he has in the newly elected FAM President and former national star, Ahmed Thariq (Tom). A holder of the prestigious UEFA Pro License, Urbányi is well-regarded for his previous successes with the Maldivian side and his dedication to implementing modern football philosophies.
