
Adam Azim has emerged victorious in the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) primary held to select a candidate for the Male’ City mayoral race in the upcoming local council elections. Competing against former Member of Parliament Ali Azim, Adam Azim secured the party’s ticket by obtaining 57.9% of the total votes, amounting to 1,411 votes. His opponent, Ali Azim, received 962 votes.
A total of 2,436 individuals cast their ballots in today’s primary. Adam Azim, who has now secured the MDP ticket, previously served as the Managing Director of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
