Arab Gulf nations have launched diplomatic efforts to prevent the current tensions between Iran and the United States from escalating into a full-scale military confrontation.

The situation follows widespread anti-government protests in Iran, which have devolved into violent unrest resulting in numerous fatalities. U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly issued warnings of potential military intervention against Iran, citing allegations of excessive force and the killing of protesters by Iranian authorities.

Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia is actively engaging with senior U.S. officials to find a path that would avert an American military strike on Iran. Simultaneously, Qatar and Oman are conducting high-level discussions with both Washington and Tehran in an attempt to stabilize the volatile regional atmosphere.

These three nations stepped forward as mediators after direct diplomatic communications between Iran and the U.S. reached a stalemate, failing to yield a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

According to Iranian government statements, more than 2,000 people have been killed during the protests so far, a figure that reportedly includes members of the security forces.

President Trump, after encouraging protesters to challenge state institutions, stated that American assistance would be forthcoming shortly.

Experts warn that a U.S. military strike against Iran could plunge the entire region into chaos and trigger a dramatic surge in global oil prices. Furthermore, Iran’s threats to target U.S. military installations located in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey have significantly heightened the security concerns of these neighboring nations.
