Real Madrid’s newly appointed head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, has stated that while managing the club is a dream come true, he is fully aware of the immense responsibility that comes with the role.
The former defender emphasized that his primary objective is to find a way for the Real Madrid players to achieve success while maintaining their distinctive style of play.
“I have been with this club for 20 years. I will remain here as long as Real Madrid wants me. This position is the realization of a lifelong dream, but at the same time, I recognize the weight of the responsibility I am taking on,” Arbeloa remarked.
Arbeloa, who previously managed the club’s youth ranks, was promoted to the senior team mid-season following Xabi Alonso’s departure by mutual consent. Alonso’s exit followed reported tensions with several senior players, most notably Brazilian forward VinÃcius Júnior.
Addressing this, Arbeloa expressed his desire to see VinÃcius play with freedom and express his natural talent. The friction between Alonso and VinÃcius reportedly stemmed from defensive obligations imposed on the forward. However, the new coach’s comments suggest he intends to grant VinÃcius a more liberated role, similar to the one he enjoyed under former manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Despite reports of internal unrest, midfielder Jude Bellingham has denied rumors of any personal conflict with Alonso. Similarly, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois maintained that he shared a positive professional relationship with the departing coach.
