In today’s Friday sermon, it was highlighted that educating sons about the divine blessings and spiritual rewards of establishing prayer in the mosque is essential to fostering a deep-seated love for this devotion within their hearts.

The theme of today’s sermon was “Familiarizing children with the mosque.”

The sermon emphasized that to inspire children toward this noble obligation and to encourage sons to establish their prayers in the mosque, it is vital to share stories of the rewards and merits associated with it. Furthermore, the sermon warned that neglecting to instill a love for this great duty and failing to raise children as individuals who safeguard their prayers could lead to a loss of happiness in this life and immense sorrow in the hereafter.

Highlighting the importance of making children diligent in their prayers, the sermon noted that it has become common for various institutions to organize sports and entertainment programs without regard for prayer times. This often results in children and youth remaining occupied in such activities even as the time for prayer passes.

The sermon also expressed regret over the sight of parents leading their children by the hand and dropping them off at playgrounds near mosques even as the Adhan (call to prayer) is being proclaimed.

Reflecting on the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the sermon cited a Hadith meaning: “Prayer in congregation is twenty-seven times more meritorious than a prayer performed individually.”

The Friday sermon also touched upon the significance of supplicating for righteous offspring. It included a prayer asking Allah to make our children among those who are diligent in their prayers and who cherish the mosques.

Furthermore, the sermon stated that the first foundation for raising children who love prayer is to choose pious and God-fearing mothers for them.

Today’s Friday sermon concluded with a call to increase good deeds and abstain from evil to seek rewards and blessings during the current month of Rajab.
