The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that they are investigating an incident involving a disturbance that took place at the taxi queue of Velana International Airport (VIA).
According to the police, reports were received at approximately 00:15 hrs on the night of the 9th of this month regarding an altercation and heated argument between two groups at the airport’s taxi queue area.
The authorities further stated that the individuals suspected of involvement in the incident were summoned for questioning, and their statements were recorded. They have since been released after being advised regarding their conduct.
The Maldives Police Service is currently conducting further inquiries to clarify the details surrounding the matter.
