China has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with Pakistan in combating terrorism and cyber-enabled crimes. This assurance was conveyed by China’s Minister for Public Security, Wang Xiaohong, during a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, held in Beijing.

During the discussions, Minister Wang emphasized the necessity of addressing shared threats and challenges through effective strategies to safeguard the national security and social stability of both nations. The two ministers deliberated on enhancing bilateral cooperation, focusing on intelligence sharing and strengthening joint law enforcement efforts.

This renewed commitment to security cooperation comes at a time when Chinese nationals working on large-scale, China-funded infrastructure projects in Pakistan have faced repeated attacks from militant groups. Specifically, workers associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have been increasingly targeted. These persistent security threats are recognized as a significant challenge to the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
