Victory Sports Club’s assistant coach, Adam Abdul Latheef (Lachay), has stated that the team’s objective following the international break is to maintain an unbeaten run and win every match. He emphasized that the team will approach their upcoming fixture against Maziya with this same winning mindset.

Speaking to PSM News after their 1-1 draw against Valencia, Latheef noted that while they expected a better result, such outcomes are part of football. He highlighted the importance of scoring early in competitive matches, adding that failure to capitalize on chances against a team like Valencia allows them to gain a strategic advantage.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Latheef observed that Victory’s players struggled to convert opportunities and committed several passing errors. However, he expressed overall satisfaction with the general play during the match and assured that the team would work on correcting these mistakes ahead of future games.

Victory’s next challenge in the league is against table-leaders Maziya. Regarding this encounter, Latheef mentioned that the entire squad is eager for the opportunity to face such a strong opponent for the second time this season.

“We are heading into our second league encounter with Maziya. It is a privilege to play against a team of their caliber. The team is highly motivated for this match. Maziya is currently in excellent form, so we will be giving 100 percent. God willing, we aim to finish the match with a result. We are very hopeful of securing at least a point,” Latheef said, underlining the team’s readiness and expectations for the high-stakes game.

Despite the draw against Valencia, Latheef expressed contentment with Victory’s overall league performance. Victory currently sits fifth in the league standings with 20 points from 13 matches. Meanwhile, Valencia remains in the ninth position within the relegation zone with 8 points. Maziya continues to lead the table with 37 points from 13 matches, remaining undefeated this season with only one draw against TC Sports Club.
