Minister Dr. Haidar Appointed as Special Envoy for the Funeral of Khaleda Zia

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed the Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, as his Special Envoy to attend the state funeral of the late former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia.

Following the passing of Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, President Muizzu expressed his profound condolences to the people of Bangladesh and the bereaved family in a post shared on his official X account.

During his visit to Bangladesh to attend the funeral, Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed is scheduled to meet with the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and members of Begum Khaleda Zia’s family. On behalf of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the Government, and the people of the Maldives, the Special Envoy will personally convey sympathies and condolences.
