A delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Mr. Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Chairman of Al-Safwa Foundation, arrived in the Maldives today. They are here to participate in the Hajj and Umrah Conference, scheduled to be held on the 11th of this month. During this visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with the Minister of Islamic Affairs, members of the Supreme Council for Islamic Fatwa, young khatibs (preachers), huffaz (those who have memorized the Holy Quran), and imams. They will also visit the National Centre for the Holy Quran. Furthermore, they will meet with Hajj Corporation Limited and deliver a special presentation at the conference concerning the corporation’s activities.
This conference, organized in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto to further strengthen the system of facilitating Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages from the Maldives, foster stronger ties with service providers, and disseminate religious knowledge, will see participation from numerous companies offering Hajj and Umrah services. This conference is part of a series of seminars and conferences organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to reinforce religious matters.
