The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has stated that the current administration is undertaking the most extensive range of Islamic projects in the shortest period in Maldivian history. Speaking at the Parliament, the Minister highlighted that under the special guidance of President Dr. Muizzu, over 81 Islamic-related projects are currently in progress. These initiatives encompass new ventures as well as the resumption of projects that had previously stalled under the former government due to a lack of budgetary allocation or being contracted to incapable firms. Despite prevailing economic challenges, the Minister underscored the government’s commitment to completing these projects, noting that 20 mosques were successfully opened in time for the most recent month of Ramadan.
