Ahmed Saudhee, the Managing Director of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), has stated that efforts are underway to complete the first segment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu’s development work before the month of Ramadan. Segment 1 covers the area from MPL (Maldives Ports Limited) to the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building. Ahmed Saudhee, during the “Haftaa 104” program presented by PSM News to mark two years of the government’s term, highlighted the project being carried out by MTCC to modernize Malé’s outer ring road.
Ahmed Saudhee further stated that under this project, the company is working extensively to complete the widening of Boduthakurufaanu Magu from Izzuddeen Jetty to the MPL area before Ramadan.

Saudee noted that despite the challenges of working in a heavily congested area, particularly one frequented by businesses, they are receiving full cooperation from the business community in that vicinity. “We are working on this segment in a very busy area of Malé, especially one with many difficulties for businesses. If we can complete this work with their cooperation and assistance, it will be easier later,” Ahmed Saudee said.
The first phase of the project to develop Malé’s outer ring road to modern standards is being carried out in 5 segments. A total of 830 meters will be developed under this project. Once completed, the 4-lane road will provide significant ease and convenience for both motorists and pedestrians.
