The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has officially commenced the physical work for the modern development of ten roads in Th. Guraidhoo. Funded by the government budget with an investment of MVR 69.2 million, this project encompasses the asphalt paving of a 2.87-kilometer stretch.
In addition to road surfacing, the project involves the installation of efficient drainage systems, the construction of pedestrian sidewalks, and the setup of street lighting. The project is scheduled for completion within 730 days. Once finalized, this initiative will provide a sustainable solution to the recurrent flooding issues on the island’s roads, streamline the local transportation network, and significantly bolster the island’s overall urban infrastructure development.
