The Maldives Police Service has dismissed a report published by the news outlet ‘Adhadhu,’ which claimed that the appointment of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hussain Rasheed as the Head of the Professional Standards Command was conducted in violation of established procedures.
The news report alleged that disciplinary action had been taken against Hussain Rasheed ten years ago. However, the police clarified that official records confirm no disciplinary measures have ever been taken against him at any point during his career. The police further asserted that his appointment was carried out strictly in accordance with the prescribed regulations and standards.
In a separate development, the deadline for submitting applications for the post of Commissioner of Police has been extended.
